That is around 36 million USD per year worth of foreign goods that Jamaicans abroad send in barrels to Jamaica each year. Imagine if instead of barrels that 36 million was sent in cash to circulate in Jamaica? The economy would be so good; the Jamaican unemployment rate would drop to single digits. In fact, if Jamaicans abroad send cash instead of barrels, there would be no reason for scamming and Black Jamaicans would be as wealthy as the Chinese Jamaicans. […]

Most business are owned by Asians, no disrespect, but if you believe this, you have never been to Jamaica, you must have stopped in China or Japan and they played you some Reggae music.

Jamaican’s don’t work in grocery because the industry is a 2% profit margin, who the hell wants that?

I cut and paste some of my replies here to that website. Here is a question one of the forum members ask and perhaps you could respond to it by visiting the website:

“I also believe Christianity has also detrimental to African Society as well. Thus, the author has made a valid point but didn’t elaborate on the reason why religion has kept the Negro in a precarious state.”

Being consumer as a race has do with our culture. Allow me to explain. First, let me put my political correctness hat off a second. Here we go:

Sub-Sahara Africans (i mean forget the Egyptians who built the pyramids and stuffs) should have been explorers, creators, should have conquered the World just like the Europeans had with Christopher Columbus, and colonized if they must as their White Brethren had. In other words, they had the means (they live in a tropical land with forests to make boats, fruit/vegetables from the jungles, water in abundance, just no name a few). What had they done? Nothing! They rather pick those stuffs rather grow them and make their life better. They did nothing to advance agricultures, they did nothing to advance anything; all they have done is to–consume! It is that mindset that follows us wherever we go in the New World.

Consumerism, my friend, predates racism the way we know it today. Therefore, has nothing to do with racism.

I come to this realization:

in Haiti, it is the Syrian/Middle Eastern peeps who themselves are very religious possess a large percentage of wealth in the said country while the Blacks, are, well, very poor….so, i think work ethics and a business mind play big role…

Moreover, i don’t think a “typical” black mind (Haitians, Jamaicans, African Americans, Africans, etc) see himself/herself as producer first but rather consumer!!! It’s not encoded in our DNA to be job creators!!!
