When Serena Williams’ serve is off, she is very difficult to beat. When her serve is on, she is impossible to beat. If her serve is on like it was in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the 2015 Australian open, then Maria Sharapova will have a real difficult time at the finals.
Both women are powerful but Serena definitely posses the more power of the two. It is not only the power, Serena is a very intelligent player and knows how to maneuver well and outsmart her opponents on the court.
About the only thing Maria Sharapova has going for her in this coming match up is she still have some hope that Serena’s pesky cough might still be bothering her. Serena showed symptoms of the cough in the quarterfinals and again in the semi-finals against fellow American, Madison Keys.
If the cough is no hindrance, I predict Serena Williams beating Maria Sharapova 6-3 6-3 to be crowned the 2015 Australian open champion. I am not sure how many grand slam championships Serena will have after this victory. I stopped counting at 30.
