Death Row founder and CEO, Suge Knight has been charged for murder. He turned himself in on Friday morning after a hit and run that injured two men, one fatally. He was arrested and is being held on $2 million bail.
People close to the Knight’s camp said the incident was an accident, however, the Los Angeles County police department says it is being investigated as a homicide. Neutral witnesses told police that the incident looked like and intentional act. “Looks like he drove backwards and struck the victims and drove forwards and struck them again,” Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. John Corina told reporters.
Attorney for the rap mogul, says once the investigations are completed, Suge Knight will be exonerated. “He was in the process of being physically assaulted by two men and in an effort to escape he unfortunately hit two (other) individuals,” the lawyer said. “He was in his car trying to escape.”
Suge Knight founded Death Row Records, one of rap’s leading labels, in the 1990s, releasing albums by artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Tupac Shakur.
