Love in America: How much is your Valentines worth?

Blood diamond
Hands chopped off in Darfur for Diamonds

Valentines Day is right around the corner. Where are you with your Valentines shopping? Are your credit cards maxed out yet? Go ahead, max them out, you may be over your head in debt after Valentines Day, but at least you can use your tax returns to get yourself back on track.

How will your Valentines know you really love him/her if you don’t get that expensive diamond from Jared? Unless we go out and spend beyond our means, how will our significant other know that we really love them?

Stop being financially responsible, spending what you don’t have is order of Valentines Day. Men, diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Don’t forget. So what if it is blood diamonds? Who cares if a little child in Africa lost an arm, a leg or even there life? That is on a whole other side of this earth. All we care about right now is romance and love and if not enough money is spent proving such love, there won’t be much romance. So go ahead and support the dismemberment of a poor African child, so what, the diamonds are just so beautiful and shiny. Do you know of a better way to show someone you love them than with shiny things? I don’t.

Do not allow anyone to discourage you from your extravagant spending this Valentines Day. Sure, some will say Cupid is fictional and the whole Valentines this is ridiculous. Ignore them.

  1. What the really bad part is, the true Valentine wrote his farewell letter before his execution He was killed for performing marriage on that were not allowed to marry and for preaching Christianity !! How does that make a day about Cupid??? Boy commercialism has cashed in big time on this one!!
