Just over a week after Anju Blaxxx was granted bail by a Florida judge, a North Dakota judge has reversed the decision.

The dancehall reggae producer is charged with conspiracy, wire fraud, and money laundering in the District of North Dakota.

According to Judge Daniel L Hovland, Blaxxx “poses a substantial flight risk”. The judge added:

The court has conducted a de novo review of the record, including the transcript of the pre-trial detention/removal hearing, and finds the Government has demonstrated the defendant poses a substantial flight risk and no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure his appearance in the District of North Dakota. The court notes the defendant is subject to an immigration detainer and possible removal to Jamaica.

Anju Blaxxx never tasted freedom even while he was granted bail. The bail was “stayed” pending an appeal by the prosecutors. Now that the prosecution has won the appeal, Blaxxx will be transported to North Dakota where a trial date will be set.

Anju Blaxxx is the CEO of UIM Records, and one of dancehall’s leading producers. His hits include Bugle’s No Compatible as well as the Punjabi, Purge, Sanction, Journey, Beach Bunx, Coolie Gal, Nymphomaniac, and Klappaz rhythms.
