Reggaé Artist Anthony Cruz who recently accepted the Rastafari Faith has little to be joyful about at the moment. Cruz’s most recent Facebook post reads “I can’t believe they kill my one and only daughter,” Cruz wrote in a Facebook post. Cruz’s daughter Shanice Smith is reportedly only 15 years old she resided with her mother in United States, Ft. Lauderdale to be precise.
Several local media outlets are reporting that Cruz’s young daughter Shanice and her mother were both found dead inside an apartment; there are also reports that a male was also located (barricaded) within the sunrise apartment.
Sunrise police has apparently told ABC news that “gunshots” were reported to 911 by someone within the unit. The police supposedly called the number and a male answered the telephone and told police, “I’m here.”
The man has since been identified as one Kevin Nelson, 32 is Jamaican from Montego Bay, St James and has prior run ins with law enforcement in South Florida for domestic violence related offences. The nature of his involvement with the victims are not assumed at this time. There was a lengthy stand off that ended in a peaceful surrender to police.
18 Karat Reggaé will stay on this tragic story. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to our reggae family Anthony Cruz.
