Reggae fans all over the world agree that the song They have no love by I-Wayne and Mr. Bertus is one of the top reggae songs of 2018 and will continue to heat up the dancehall and reggae scene in 2019.
Fans who are attending the Capleton produced St. Mary Mi Come From show will get a chance to see the song performed live when I-Wayne and Mr. Bertus grace the stage.
The video for the song was premiered on CVM last week to great fanfare from reggae fans all over the world. The video has also been enjoying thousands of views on the 18 Karat Reggae Facebook page.
St. Mary mi come from will be staged this year in Kingston, Jamaica at The National Arena on November 10.
The show was originally a dance, first held in 2000 at the Clemhard’s Park in Port Maria before moving to the James Bond Beach in Oracabessa. It eventually outgrew the venue when it matured into a concert.
I-Wayne is a living reggae legend with many reggae classics like Can’t satisfy her and Living in love under his belt.
Mr. Bertus is a fast rising star in his own rights who previously released his hit song Wicked dem a come on the 18 Karat Reggae label.
Over the years, proceeds from St. Mary Mi Come From have been donated to charities benefiting children in St Mary and across the island. Delroy Morgan, chief executive officer at the Annotto Bay Hospital, highlighted that they have received a contribution of $500,000 for the nursery from the entertainer and his team.
Meanwhile, Capleton revealed his vision of turning the concert into a festival that extends to more than one night of performance.
The Jah Jah City deejay told The Gleaner, “St Mary is more than a parish, and A St Mary Mi Come From is a brand. I could do St Mary Mi Come From tour in the US or London and it would still have the same meaning and purpose. I’m looking on two nights, or a three-night staging with singers on one night, deejays on another, and a vintage night.”
