Rihanna was in her home country this weekend to support a fellow Caribbean entertainer, Buju Banton.
The pop princess says she has been a fan of Buju Banton for as long as she can remember and se would not have missed the fourth leg of the Long Walk to Freedom tour “for anything in the world.”
“I love Buju’s music since I was a kid and he was doing just doing dancehall before he transitioned to reggae,” Rihanna said.
Rihanna spent her time at Buju’s concert in the VIP section where she chit chatted with the prime minister and other leaders of Barbados.
Before Buju’s performance Rihanna went backstage to hang out with the Rasta where the two hugged and talked for quite a few minutes. The two even did a pose for the media backstage to snap away.
Someone from the media section shouted the question “can we expect a Buju Banton and Rihanna collaboration anytime soon?”
Buju Banton only laughed at the question but Rihanna responded, “we will know soon wont we?”
With Barbados now out of the way, Buju Banton will be taking his Long Walk to Freedom tour to Suriname next week.
Below are Buju Banton’s upcoming shows.
May 4 – Paramaribo, Suriname @ Andre Kamperveen Stadion
May 11 – St. George, Grenada @ National Stadium
