When Alkaline got released by the police yesterday evening it seems like everything was clear. It was only a temporary release, however. His attorney worked out a deal for the artist to go run and errand and eat since he had yet to be charged.
The artist had to return to the police after he finished running his errand and up until this morning, he continues to remain in police custody.
“He is still with us. He spent the night with us last night and will continue being questioned today,” Senior Superintendent of Police Clinton Laing told 18 KART REGGAE.
The entertainer, whose given name is Earlan Bartley, along with his attorney, Peter Champagnie, reported to the Area 4 police headquarters in Kingston yesterday morning where he was questioned in relation to an ongoing murder probe. Alkaline was later taken to the Criminal Investigation Branch for further questioning. He was allowed to leave for dinner and run an errand and then return again.
The police on Tuesday said Alkaline was wanted for questioning in relation to the murder of Rohan ‘Head’ Morris of Maverley, St Andrew.
The murder took place on January 13.
