Months after her major lip synching flop at The Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, Mariah Carey has finally broken her silence. The pop princess sends sincere apologies to those who paid their money to see her live performance but was instead treated to a disastrous lip synching debacle.
Mariah Carey says while she is very sorry for the flop, dancehall reggae is partly to be blamed for her troubles. She blames her performance on “severely sore vocal chords”. She said since her break up with her husband Nick Cannon she has been dating a man who really loves dancehall music. Days before her performance at the festival, Mariah Carey spent all day with this man listening to Gage’s hit song “Dung inna yuh throat”. She went on to say, she not only practice what she sings but she also “practice what she listens”.
You would expect Mariah Carey to be taking better care of her vocal chord before a major performance but she has never been the sharpest tool in the shed. Some years ago when asked about world hunger, the hit maker responded, “Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can’t help but cry. I mean, I’d love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.”
Mariah Carey did promise, however, that if invited back to the Jazz and Blues Festival next year, she will take much better care of her throat and vocal chords.
