For six years neither Popcaan nor Tommy Lee visited their former mentor in prison. But when news broke that Kartel was hospitalized and being treated for a kidney infection, both men rush to the hospital to visit their mentor.
18 Karat was informed that because of the high security presence at the hospital, neither Popcaan nor Tommy Lee was allowed to see Kartel. At least now they can say they at least tried to see their former boss.
Vybz Kartel was rushed to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) in St Andrew yesterday, after complaining of excruciating pain.
While it was first rumored that it was because of the stress he was feeling after hearing the news that his wife was pregnant for Mavado, it was later revealed that the real reason was a kidney infection.
The deejay was still hospitalized at press time.
Some of Vybz Kartel fans are even starting to question if officials at the prison are trying to harm their deejay as this is his third time being hospitalized since his incarceration.
Vybz Kartel whose real name is Adidja Palmer is currently serving a life sentence following his murder conviction in relation to the death of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
The entertainer’s attorney is currently working on his appeal.
“We have a date in November for preliminary hearing,” his attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson said.
