Billboard magazine recently released an article that states that of the top ten selling reggae albums of 2015, only one was produced in Jamaica and only two were by Jamaican reggae artists. If fact, the article painted a gloom picture of Jamaican produced reggae music.
Clarendon based producer, Kaya Digital, plans to change the reggae landscape with his new “Rasta Riddim”.
“I got tired of hearing how foreign reggae was taking over the reggae market. I wanted to show the world that Jamaica still creates the best reggae music, and that’s what inspired me to create this rhythm,” Kaya Digital said.
The rhythm features the hit singles “wicked dem a run” by Mr. Bertus and “Dem nuh love Rasta” by Jah Fenixx.
The songs have been enjoying regular airplay both locally and internationally. Both songs are available on the compilation “18 Karat Reggae Hits 2015”.
