The self-proclaimed king of the dancehall has had to endure a verbal beating from the fans of fellow dancehall artist, Alkaline. However, Beenie has chosen to keep his cool and not respond in like manner to the fans.
Fans of Alkaline were not pleased when Beenie claimed that the Vendetta Boss did not care about Jamaicans and the fans let Beenie Man have it.
“Beenie Man just a look a forward. Him always a fight di yute dem and neva buss a soul,” one of Alkaline’s fans commented on Instagram.
“He’s just mad that his career is over and you’re doing well. I don’t know why these old artistes nuh guh sit and mek the youth dem rise,” another fan posted.
Some fans even went as far as threatening Beenie Man with bodily harm.
“Beenie Man yuh a fuck round with yuh life. Yuh wi dead youth. Why yuh go trouble weh nuh trouble you,” one fan posted.
Beenie Man has kept his calm through all of this and has replied with nothing but kind words. He says he is happy that Alkaline heard what he has to say and now maybe the Vendetta Boss will start performing for the Jamaican people.
“Mi glad how di artiste hear me. A two years now di fans a support him music and cyaa see him. I only hope him do some show now fi spite me and please him fans. Since a deh so di ting reach. Mi please my fans and fi dem pickney fi decades now. Pay my dues and show my respect to the music, musicians, deejays, promoters, patrons, and sound system,” Beenie Man said.
Whether or not Beenie Man’s comments will compel Alkaline to start performing in Jamaica remains to be seen.
