King of Reggae-Soul-Hop music featured on new sitcom.

Reggae-soul-hop artist Melodic Yoza will be featured in the pilot episode of CBC’s brand new sitcom Kim’s Convenience. The show centres on a Korean-Canadian family, The Kims, who run a convenience store in Toronto’s Regent Park. The show is set to premiere on October 11, 2016. Using all Canadian resources is important to the show’s producers at CBC. While searching for the perfect, upbeat pop hits to use for the show, the producers came across the music of Melodic Yoza, who blends elements of reggae, hip-hop, dancehall, jazz, and pop into his own personal formula while creating his own personal moniker, “Melodic” (Music. Energy. Lyrics. Originality. Dedication. Inspiration. Consciousness).

Hailing from New York City by way of Jamaica and Canada, Yoza is set on delivering a unique twist to his music. Thus far, Yoza has had a #1 single on the Canadian Reggae Chart and a #1 music video five weeks in a row on 876 Hip Hop. He has also opened for recognized artists Mos Def, Third World, BushMan, Tupac, Scarface, Salt and Pepper, and more. His energy, both onstage and off, has given him a reputation of showmanship, professionalism, and humour. When walking through the streets of Toronto, it is always clear when Yoza is around as everyone around him stops to say hi. One can always see and feel Melodic Yoza’s personal philosophy, “gratitude is my attitude”, when he interacts with his fans.

Kim’s Convenience will be showcasing two of Yoza’s recent releases “Boom Salute” and “Mister Music”, which will also be featured on his upcoming album release “Countri Boi Kingston”. His sophomore effort is a culmination of years of jet setting, life experiences, and living in recording studios. The album explores his country boy roots and life in Kingston, Jamaica. A humble beginning that Melodic Yoza hopes will help him connect with his growing fan base.
