While American media continues 24/7 coverage of the terrorist attack that killed twelve in France, a widespread terrorist massacre by Boko Haram in Nigeria goes virtually unreported. Both acts were carried out by Islamic terrorist, so why is one deemed more important than the other? One can only wonder if it has to so with the amount of melanin in the skin of the victims.
Hundreds of bodies, too many to count, remain strewn in the bush in Nigeria from an Islamic extremist attack that Amnesty International suggested Friday is the “deadliest massacre” in the history of Boko Haram.
Too many bodies to count, yet western media have us so fixated on the twelve deaths in France, that most people are not even aware of the Nigeria shituation. I think Ice cube said it best in the movie “Boyz ‘n’ da hood” when he said, “it is either we don’t matter or they don’t care.”
Even those who were “protesting” and throwing #BlackLivesMatter hashtags all over the internet are now too busy discussing the Twelve French victims to care abut the thousands of Nigerians slaughtered in the street.
Black lives matter to Blacks. In the media, not too much. At least we know for a fact, that thousands of Black lives does not matter as much as twelve white lives in the eyes of the media. If you have any doubts, knowing what you know now about the current events in France and Nigeria, stroll over to CNN or Fox and get your proof.
