All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. Revelation 13:8

Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Revelation 5:5

The Lion of Judah and the Lamb slain in the Book of Revelation, are terms representing Jesus, according to Christian tradition. The lion of Judah was also one of the titles of the Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I and was depicted on the flag of Ethiopia from 1897-1974. Due to its association with H.I.M Emperor Haile Selassie, it continues to be an important symbol among members of the Rastafari movement.

1 in 5 black folks are Christians, believe in the Bible and go to church. Rastafarians are Christians and fundamentally believes the same thing. This is the main culprit of the black stagnation. Having a hero who is described as a Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, is no good for their psyche, which is responsible for one’s thoughts and feelings and the seat of the faculty of reason. While The Conquering Lion personifies a much stronger outlook, it is no good for their psyche either. It still teaches dependency and to wait for someone to come to the rescue.

Black people will do better to think of themselves as wolves rather than Lambs and Lions. Wolves are creatures of the beautiful black nightlight. Wolves are coursing, social predators that operate in packs (unity). They are legendary because of their spine-tingling howl, which they use to communicate. A lone wolf howls to attract the attention of his pack, while communal howls may send territorial messages from one pack to another.

Black people are as beautiful as the blackness of the night and all its awesome heavenly lights.
