While prison life has been great for Vybz Kartel, the word on the street is that is not not been so good for Ninjaman.
It is being reported that Ninja Man was being treated so badly at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre that he asked for a transfer to the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre. Ninja Man’s attorney, Valerie Neita Robertson, would not deny or confirm if the request for a move was granted but 18 Karat Reggae understands that it was.
Before Ninja Man was even sentenced, 18 Karat Reggae asked the question whether it was possible for Ninja Man and Vybz Kartel to be in the same prison because as the Jamaican saying goes, two bulls can’t reign in one pen.
Ninja’s bad treatment was not only coming from the guards but fellow inmates were also giving him a difficult time. An inmate told 18 Karat Reggae on condition of anonymity that inmates and guards were instructed by Vybz Kartel to make Ninja’s life hell.
“The officers and inmates are treating Vybz Kartel better than Ninja. Ninja send fi a 50-inch TV and dem take it away. He paid for it to come in illegal though. The inmates dem a bun him out because him did a say man must not get sex from dem girls in prison and now see him drop a di same place,” the inmate said.
Ninja Man spoke out against a new measure introduced by National Security Minister, Robert Montague, which allowed some prisoners to get conjugal visits, in an attempt to humanize prisoners. This did not sit well with inmates and not that Ninja Man is also in prison, they are making him pay for his comments.
“Di man dem a do him bad cuz dem a say him use to bun out Kartel when him did a get try fi murder and say if him do di crime, him must do di time. It look like him never know say fi him time did ago come so nuff man no inna too much chattings with him,” the inmate said.
It is not unusual for prisoners in Jamaica to be living the good life behind prison walls.
It is believed that Ninja Man thought he could get a 50 inch screen TV in his cell because Vybz Kartel and other inmates have TVs in their cells.
Both Ninja Man and Vybz Kartel are currently serving life sentences for murders they were convicted of committing.
