Gully Bop can’t be stopped.
Gully Bop
They said he was just a passing fad. They said after Mavado, nothing good would come out of the gully. Haters said he would flop soon, his 15 minutes of fame would fade and he would be back in the gutters. They said after Sting there would be no more Gully Bop. Here we are months later and the two teeth old man is still going strong.
Gully Bop is going so strong that he made history at Caymanas Park this weekend. He drew the biggest crowd in the history of the park and thrilled them with a superb 20 minute performance.
“It was a 20-minute performance after the last race. Nobody moved when the races were over. It was 11 races. Nobody moved, not even people in the upscale North Lounge. Everybody stayed back to see him. In fact, from as early as the ninth race, people started circling the stage, mostly women. We had to start putting up barriers as people were jostling for position. When he took the stage, it was pandemonium,” a member of the organizing team told 18 Karat Reggae.
