Jamaica is a land of reggae, Rastas and Marijuana.

Not really. The truth is, the majority of Jamaicans are Christians. As a matter of fact, Rasta was frowned upon at one point. It was only when the bigger heads figured out that Rasta attracted tourists to the island that Rasta was somewhat accepted into the mainstream. Have you seen a Jamaica Tourist Board flyer lately?

Contrary to what some might believe, marijuana is not legal in Jamaica. It only got decriminalized in 2015. This means that if you are caught with a small amount of marijuana in Jamaica, you will not be arrest but the police can issue a citation which is the equivalent of a speeding ticket. Jamaica’s main export to the world is not marijuana, it is bauxite, coffee, sugar cane and other agricultural goods.

Jamaica is the most homophobic place on earth.

Buggering of all sorts is illegal in Jamaica. That aside, Jamaica is not like what western media try to portray the country as. People in Jamaica are not walking around looking for homosexuals to mistreat or kill.

Long live the queen:

While Queen Elizabitch of England is still considered the queen of Jamaica, many on the island does not see her as such. In fact is is quite the contrary, many Jamaicans view the queen the way she is viewed in the following Sizzla lyrics:

Babylon system is the beast
And the head is the Pope and Elizabeth
See them mix up with their meat
Having a bloody feast
Have dem trigger dey squeeze and poor people dem ah cheat

Jamaica free long time.

Even though Jamaica did not gain her independence until 1962; places like Maroon Town, Accompong, etc have been free of Brishit rule from in the 1600s. To understand the details behind that you would need to know about the Maroons of Jamaica. The Maroons are another topic for another day but if you are curious right now, you can research “The Maroons of Jamaica”.

I have enjoyed reading your article but make sure you proff read before you post. The name given to Queen Elizabeth should not be their for us to see. If you want to be treated as respectable news paper please do not have any personal feelings in your articles. I truly hope that it was a mistake or typo that was missed.
