A massive overhauling of Drug Laws loom BUT Ganja Farmers Could be dinged with a $400,000 Cannibis Licensing Fee! 

Chairman of National Coalition of Ganja Farmers and Producers and Member of the Cannabis Licensing Authority Ras Iya-V, explains that the fees vary depending on the acreage of the crop to be cultivated.

Speaking on the Africa forum this morning (June 5), Iyah-V says the prices for the license for cultivating cannabis starts at US $2,000, in addition to an application fee of US $300.
Ras Iyah-V adds that the cost for a license to transport cannabis is US $10,000, which is about JA $1.2 m, for the first vehicle and US $1,000 for every additional vehicle.

There are 5 types of cannabis licenses that can be applied for, including cultivating, processing, transport, research and development.

Co-Chair for the National Coalition of Ganja Farmers and Producers, Kathy Lennon, says the coalition has made a proposal to reduce the acre that each farmer will cultivate in order for the rice to be reduced so that farmers who wish to, are able to pay the fees for a license…IrieFMimage
