A petition by music fan, Neil Lonsdale, calls Kanye West “an insult to music fans all over the world”.
Kanye West is all set to headline England’s Glastonbury Festival in June but thousands of angry music fans are hoping that will change. So far, the only other confirmed acts are Foo Fighters and Lionel Richie.
Neil Lonsdale who we like to refer to as the hip-hop hater started a petition on change.org in order to get promoters to remove Kanye West from the line up. Below is the petition:
Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world. We spend hundreds of pounds to attend glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment. Kanye has been very outspoken on his views on music, he should listen to his own advice and pass his headline slot on to someone deserving! Lets prevent this musical injustice now!
So far the petition has been signed by over 60,000 hip hop haters. Based on Kanye’s behavior over the years, one might be fooled into thinking this is about removing Kanye from the festival, it is not. It is about removing hip-hop from the festival. In 2008, this very same uproar happen when Jay Z was booked to headline the festival.
It would be interesting to know how many of the 60,000 who signed the petition are also fans of the Chelsea Football Club over there in England.
