Blacks must be mixed with Indian or White to be beautiful, according to reggae artist.
Race Mixing
A female reggae artist has uttered the kind of rubbish you would expect to hear at a KKK rally and not from someone who is from the same birthplace as Marcus Garvey.
With the recent no make-up movement started by Alicia Keys, dancehall reggae artist, Pamputtae made it clear that she wanted no part of that movement. Now there is nothing wrong with wanting no part in a “no make-up movement”, after all, many other female dancehall artists seems to be in agreement with Pamputtae. However, it is the reason Pamputtae gave for not going without make up that would make the great Marcus Garvey rollover in his grave.
“Mi would neva stop wearing make-up because remember, my mother neva tek a pretty coolie man with straight nose and dem something there, so me haffi fix up,” said Pamputtae.
For those who don’t know, a coolie is a person of Indian descent. At least that is what they are called in Jamaica. So in Pamputtae’s limited mental capacity, Blacks need to be mixed with some other ethnicities in order to be beautiful. Then she went on to talk about not having a “straight nose”. It is difficult to believe that in 2016, an adult Black woman would still that Black noses are something to be ashamed of.
Pamputtae’s comments are atrocious coming from any Black person’s mouth, but coming from someone with a platform and so many young Black children listening to her is just downright vile. Pamputtae owes every Black child an apology for spewing that garbage.
As Marcus Garvey taught Africans people all over the earth, they were created perfectly in the eyes of God and do not need to be mixed with any other ethnicity to be beautiful.
“As I shall teach the black man, I shall teach the black man to see beauty in his own kind and stop bleaching his skin and otherwise looking like what he’s not. Back in the days of slavery, Race mixture, Race miscegenation all occurred because the African woman had no protection from the slave master. Therefore there is no need today for black people themselves to freely continue a practice that smacks so much of slavery.” – Marcus Garvey
Now Garvey made those statements during a different time in order to help Blacks to see the beauty in their own kind. Of course there is not anything wrong with race mixture but for an African to believe that Blacks need to be mixed to be beautiful is downright disgusting.
