Reggae Artists Condemn Orlando Shooting.

Reggae artists have came out condemning the mass shooting at a gay night club in Orlando, Florida that left 50 dead and 53 injured.

One of the first artist to condemn the shooting was NinjaMan who himself has a gay son. The “Ninja mi Ninja” artist had the following to say:

This is really a tragic event. Whether the victims are gay or not, it is fifty lives that were snuffed out and another 53 injured. I don’t know the reason why they were killed and I am not quick to say it is because they are gay, but it is sad. A life is a life regardless of a person’s race or sexual orientation. It is unfortunate that a man is going to decide to cast his own judgement and kill so many people. It is wrong to take a life.

Macka Diamond who is one of the heirs to the queen of the dancehall throne vacated by Lady Saw was also sad and scared over the killings. Macka worries about the danger these shootings pose to even entertainers as a performer was killed in Orlando the previous night before the gay club shooting. Macka had the following to say:

I am definitely against any hate killings and a lot of lives were lost. My heart goes out to the victims loved ones. And, for us, as entertainers who work in clubs, it scares me.
