A man from Columbus, Georgia broke into a funeral home and had sexual intercourse with the body of a dead female.

Twenty six year old, Dominique Smith was found with a stolen bike from the funeral home. The funeral home director informed the police that a female corpse was also disturbed during the period that the bike was stolen. Forensic tests were performed on the corpse and as a result police concluded that Smith had sexual intercourse with the corpse.

The victim was not identified, though her family has been informed of the charges and the ongoing police investigation.

Smith pleaded guilty to burglary, entering an unoccupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property, according to the newspaper. He is currently in jail.

It’s unclear if Smith has an attorney. He is expected to appear in court on the necrophilia charge Monday.
