Skip Marley might have a song with Grammy winning pop star, Katy Perry but he does not have something that Young Shanty does and that is the number one album on the Billboard Reggae Chart.
The EP, “Chalice Row Or Dig A Hole”, debuted at number one this week on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, Young Shanty is redefining the term of so-called “American Reggae”. Independently released by Giddimani Records and Chalice Row Records, C.R.O.D.A.H is showing up worldwide on radio playlists.
Known as “The Best Falsetto From The Ghetto”, Shanty’s unique vocal deliveries and vivid lyricism is highlighted throughout the 7 track EP. With the standout radio hit “Check For U”, the industry has began to take notice.
Label CEO Perfect Giddimani is featured on much of the project including the 2 hit songs “Got Trees” and “Kush N Grabba”. Jamaican star Teflon,(Unruly Bobo), also makes an appearance on the hip-hop influenced track ”Biscuits”, and Jahdan Blakkamoore ( of Boot Camp Clique fame and Grammy nominated writer for Snoop Lion), assists on the 2 soulful melodies “Last Hit” and “So Loud”.
“Chalice Row Or Dig A Hole” is available worldwide at all digital retailers. Physical CDs available online directly from Chalice Row Records and by request at local music stores.
