Attorneys for incarcerated and now hospitalized entertainer, Vybz Kartel, are strongly confident that the world boss will be free in early 2018. Based on their understandings of the law and the way the whole Kartel conviction went down, they see absolutely no reason why the world boss will not be freed by the courts.
Vybz Kartel was convicted of murder in 2014 and sentenced to life in prison. The deejay did not file his appeal until 2016 as he had problems coming up with the attorney fee after being forced to spend millions on his original trial. Another entertainer stepped in last year and contributed to Vybz Kartel’s legal fees and his appeal was filed in 2016.
In the appeal filing Kartel’s attorneys are arguing that the entire case was tainted, from witness intimidation by the police to evidence tampering by the Government.
Valerie Neita-Robertson, one of Kartel’s attorneys says that the corruption that is prevalent in the police force and the prosecutor’s office does not exist in the courts and that is why they are super confident about Kartel’s vindication.
The courts will be hearing the appeal case in February of 2018.
