I respect Police but I’m afraid of them says Dr. Brian H. Williams, a trauma surgeon at Parkland Memorial Hospital!
Dr. Brian Williams during a (CNN) press conference struck the perfect balance in speaking about his respect for police officer but also the lives of black men routinely gunned down by police.
Dr. Brian H. Williams is a black trauma surgeon who treated dying Dallas police officers – he broke down in tears as he pleaded for an end to racial violence. He said and I quote “This killing, it has to stop,” He spoke further on black men dying and being forgotten. People retaliating against the people that are sworn to defend us.
Williams told media he understands “the anger” black people hold against police officers, and remains haunted by the police killings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota last week. “I understand the anger and the frustration and distrust of law enforcement, but they are not the problem,” he said.
“The problem is open discussions about the impact of race relations in this country. And I think about it every day, that I was unable to save those cops when they came here that night. It weights on my mind constantly.”
He went on to say I support, I respect and will care for police but that doesn’t change the fact that I fear you, that doesn’t change the fact that When you approach me I have visceral effect..
I do simple things when I’m out with my daughter like picking up police tabs. I don’t want her to grow up with the burden I have when it comes to police interactions with Police..
POWERFUL! He struck a balance!
