According to Vybz Kartel’s attorney, Christian Tavares-Finson, the caged ruler of dancehall reggae could be free any day now.
Tavares-Finson says he expects the decison on Kartel’s appeal to be rendered late March or early April. “We are very confident we will have a succesful outcome,” Tavares-Finson says. “We feel like we prove that the judge in the original trial made erroneous decisions.
A number of jurors were employed as agents of the state and, had that information been given to the defense, they certainly would not have sat on that jury. That has come out in the trial of the juror who was charged with attempting to bribe other members of the jury,” Tavares-Finson said.
Dancehall fans are patiently waiting on the release of Kartel.
Even though Kartel continues to be the king of dancehall from behind bars, his fans are longing to see him perform live.
