Zika Virus Outbreak – High Alert Issued in America – Areas to Avoid are Listed!

ZIKA VIRUS has increasingly become a serious issue in The United States. On Monday July 01, 2016, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention felt it necessary to issue a travel warning to pregnant women and their partners urging them to avoid travel to a small community just north of downtown Miami, where Zika is actively circulating.

The CDC has never issued a warning against travel to an American neighborhood for fear of catching an infectious disease. 41 members of US Military (included a pregnant officer) infected with  Zika Virus

11 more people were found to have been infected with Zika virus after being bitten by local mosquitoes in Florida; now 15 in total!

This is without a doubt staggering and troubling numbers; one thing that gives one hope is the fact that the US tends to find cures or means of corralling diseases that washes up on its shores. Think Ebola, the moment a couple of cases were revealed in the US, a miracle followed.  Fingers crossed Brazil will soon benefit.

In the mean time, be mindful; Windwood district in south Florida is being dubbed ground zero and is on High Alert. Texas also on High Alert!
