Conscious Reggae artist Chaddy Royal releases his new video “Justice and Equality” on February 11th 2017. The video filmed by award winning documentary filmmaker Ras Tre on location in Baltimore, touches on the economic plight of African Americans within the city.
The inspiration behind the track was the 2015 Baltimore Uprising that was heavily publicized on national television in late April of that year. A young black male named Freddie Gray fell into a coma while being transported in a police van. He eventually died due to his mysterious injuries while in the police van. In Chaddy’s latest video he brings to life the emotions he felt during that particular time.
