Shabba Ranks, his family, friends, fans and the entire dancehall community is still mourning the passing of his mother, “Mama Christy”, and now Mavado has also lost his mother.
Mavado is dealing with the death of his mother, Elizabeth “Ms Pinny” Gordon. She died in a hospital in Kingston on Thursday night.
Mavado reportedly had a great relationship with his mother.
On Mother’s Day in 2018 Mavado shared an old photo with Gordon saying that it reminded him of the great things she did for him and added: “So this world could talk about me today. Only father God knows, that’s why I will always love you mama, my boss.”
Shabba Ranks and Mavado are not the only ones who have lost their mother in recent times. Black Queen lost his mother in January 2021; Beenie Man lost his mom in September 2020; and Shenseea lost her mother in June 2020. Professional dancer Dancing Rebel also lost her mother in October 2020.
