A lot of people in the dancehall community like to throw shades at Beenie Man for not putting any artists in the spotlight like other artists such as Bounty Killer and Vybz Kartel. That is about to change as the king of dancehall might have just anointed the young man who will run dancehall for the 2020s.
It was a high school function in Clarendon, Jamaica where Beenie man was the headliner. While performing a young student in his school uniform stepped on stage and asked Beenie Man to give him a chance to show the crowd what he has. The young man took the mic and belted out some lyrics that put the crowd in frenzy and the rest was history.
An employee of 18 Karat Reggae who has a cousin who attends the high school happens to see the young man his name is Karma. The rest was history as within a week was in the 18 Karat Reggae studio recording. Just a couple weeks later, the artist completed the song “Pressure” which is now heating up the dancehall charts all over the world.
All of this happened just because Beenie Man deciding to hand the mic to a little youth who wanted a chance to shine. So when Karma is the hottest dancehall artist in 2020, a lot of credit will be due to Beenie Man for introducing the young man to the world. All Beenie needs to do now is to take Karma with him to all the stage shows he is performing on for the rest of the year.
