Is Nana Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, the new Gaddafi?

A speech by Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, calling for Africa to end its dependency on the West recently went Viral. Africans at home and abroad are caught asking themselves; is Akufo-Addo the new Gaddafi?

Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo addressed the European Union in December 04, 2017.  A local journalist asked about whether France was going to strengthen its “support” for other African countries aside its former colonies where the majority of French aid is spent.

Ghana won independence from Britain in 1957. On the heel of this complex question, the French President, Macron and Nana Akufo-Addo jokingly tossed the question amongst each other until it was settled the Ghanaian present would respond.

The response was Jaw-Dropping; so much so that he felt the need to put out this disclaimer “I hope that the comments I am about to make will not offend the questioner too much and some people around here.”
