What does the rapper Cardi B knows about dancehall? Well enough to state her opinion that Vybz Kartel is the greatest dancehall artist ever.
The Bronx rapper said that throughout her teenage years there was nothing better she and her friend enjoyed doing that dancing to Vybz Kartel’s music.
Last year Cardi B went to Jamaica on a video shoot plus working to work on her debut album. So it was shocking shocking not to see a Kartel feature when her album was released.
Kartel has been incarcerated for six years but seems to have no problem when it comes to making hit songs. In fact, except for Akaline, Vybz Kartel probably has more hit songs in the last six years than any other dancehall artist.
Cardi made her admiration for Kartel public when she posted on Instagram “…(Vybz Kartel my favorite artist of all time. Me and my friends’ teenagehood was all about dancing to (Kartel)…”
So off all the great artist like Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Tupac Shakur, Sizzla Kalonji, Rihanna and many more; Vybz Kartel is Cardi B’s favorite.
Cardi B is currently the hottest artist in hip-hop, even outdoing the male artists.
