Vybz Kartel has been missing from Instagram for about a month and Dancehall fans have been wondering what was the reason behind his absence.
It is now being revealed by the deejay’s attorney, Isat Buchanan, that he was transferred from the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre to the Horizon Remand Centre in Kingston where the security is a lot tighter.
“Kartel has been moved from Spanish Town to Horizon Remand,” Buchanan revealed.
A few months ago, 24 new cells were constructed at Horizon Remand where members of the Jamaican Defense Force (JDF) are in charge of security details. There were rampant speculations that Kartel was transferred to this higher security establishment, which has now been confirmed.
“Kartel is in a cell where the soldiers are stationed right there in front of him,” a Jamaica news outlet has revealed.
Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams and is waiting for the Privy Council to hear his appeal.
