The principal of Reggae Sumfest, Joe Bogdanovich, is happier than a pig in mud, thanks to Buju Banton.
Reggae Sumfest tickets has been selling faster than any other time in the history of the event and Bogdanovich is not keeping it a secret that Buju Banton is the main reason for this.
“We have sold substantially more tickets at this stage that at the corresponding period at any time in the past. Given Reggae Sumfest’s track record that is pretty hard to beat, so it is impressive at this stage… Buju Banton has a lot to do with it,” Bogdanovich said.
Buju Banton has been making history since his release from prison in December of last year where he served 8 years of a 10-year-sentence on drug charges. The Rasta artiste have enjoyed sold out crows on every leg of his Long Walk to Freedom Tour so far.
Buju has been pulling crowds that not even Bob Marley pulled during his life time. In fact, in his Barbados performance, he pulled more people than Rihanna did when the pop princess performed there.
Reggae Sumfest will take place from July 14 – 20 in Monteo Bay.
Reggae Sumfest 2019 will also feature dancehall legends Bounty Killer and Beenie Man in a tune for tune confrontation.
Other artistes on the show includes Chronixx, Beres Hammond, Spice, Dexta Daps, Agent Sasco, Spragga, Elephant Man, Munga, Govanna, Dovey Magnum, Chronic Law, Jah9, Protoje, Tarrus Riley and Christopher Martin.
