Imagine a police officer stopping a marijuana user, not to make an arrest but instead to get information of where the good herb can be found. That is the scenario in which Mr. Bertus starts his song “Ganja for Life” on the 18 Karat Reggae Gold 2020 compilation.

“A police officer smell my herb and said, ‘Sir where you got that cologne?’ I said, ‘officer if you want it, you have to travel to the Westmoreland (A parish in Jamaica) zone.”

As COVID-19 ravages the world and countries are forced to shut down their economies, marijuana businesses were allowed to stay open as they were deemed essential businesses. Marijuana being classified as essential is the correct move by governments. However, marijuana is not about the physical health benefits but as we struggle through this pandemic, the mental benefits cannot be overstated.
