On Friday, May 15th, international sound system legend, King Addies, celebrates the dual launch of King Addies Music (KAM) artist management and indie record label Tru Money Musiq (TMM), with the official release of debut single “Weed Alone” by new artist, BabyDall.
Straight out of Jamaica’s sunny west coast, the 19 year-old singjay arrived on the international scene with a preview of her single in the annual 420 issue of west coast and South America based, Irie Magazine. Westmoreland born and based, BabyDall marries her personal world-view to authentic dancehall riddims that have an edgy vibration. On the 3:07 minute celebratory ganja track, she delivers bold lyrics and a hard-hitting cadence that catches you completely off guard, and leaves you wanting more.
Lyrically BADD in every sense, and having her own unique sound, BabyDall is not the typical sex-selling, female, Dancehall artist. Her subject matter is gritty, and a brand of street vibes that illustrates her reality, along with what’s really happening outside of tourist hip-strips in Jamaica—it’s her survival story. Already getting repeat spins on NY’s Hot 97, stations in the Caribbean, and included in 7 mix-tapes before its official release, Weed Alone is getting very strong social media feedback from Dancehall fans all over the world.
