18 karat Reggae was the first to report the strong possibility of Buju Banton performing at Rebel Salute 2019 if it is even for a short set. The event’s organizer, Tony Rebel, is now admitting that not only is there a possibility but the invitation has already been extended to the Buju Banton Camp.
“You never know. He’s always invited, Germain knows that. And all things are possible,” Tony Rebel responded when asked if Buju Banton would be on the show.
At the same time, the promoter made it clear that they understand that Buju Banton has been away from his family for almost ten years and need time and space to get reacquainted.
“But let me tell you something. If a man goes to prison for over three thousand and odd days and he forward, allow him to be an astronaut… Why? He needs space. Give him that. So we a do dat,” Tony Rebel continued.
Rebel Salute 2019 will take place on January 18th and 19th at the Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in Priory, St Ann, Jamaica.
Among the performers scheduled to perform at Rebel Salute this year are The Wailers, The Wailing Soul, Dawn Penn, Wayne Marshall, Marcia Aitken, Anthony Malvo, Wayne Wonder, Cat Coore, Luciano, Perfect, Capleton, Leroy Gibbons, Terri Ganzie, Chezidek, The Mighty Diamonds, Koffee, Mr. Easy, Jahbouks, Anu Brian Gold, Bushman, Queen Ifrica, Leroy Smart, Chalice, Yellowman, Agent Sasco, Horace Andy, Half Pint, Ken Boothe, Mr. Vegas, Nesbeth, Turbulence, Louie Culture, Echo Minott, Jesse Royal, Bounty Killer and quite possibly Buju Banton.
