If Dalton Harris was trying to run from homophobia when he left the island to live in England, he is finding out that racism can be just as bad if not worse than the former.
The Jamaican singer says he was a victim of racial profiling by the police in his hometown of London. Luckily he was not harmed throughout the ordeal but he was accosted and reprimanded by the officers on a grocery run and it was all because he dressed too black.
The X-Factor 2018 winner took to Twitter on Friday complaining after the encounter.
“So the cops literally just reprimanded me because I was wearing a hoody and is black so they thought I was intending on robbing parked cars in the parking lot of a supermarket in my market run,” Harris tweeted.
Harris, who questioned the ideology of London becoming America, said he was left feeling violated, and in shock after the incident.
