In anticipation of his release from prison, Vybz Kartel tries to recruit Alkaline to join Gaza.

Vybz Kartel knows that any day now he will be a free man and the world boss seems to have plans to rebuild his once dominant Gaza crew. With Popcaan signed to Drake’s label OVO, chances are the unruly one won’t be going back to Gaza so Kartel is trying to recruit Alkaline.

Vybz Kartel took to his Facebook page to conduct his recruiting of Alkaline. While his statements were not exactly overt, any Dancehall fan with a fifth grade education could figure out what the deejay was trying to do and who he was talking to.

Kartel was clearly sending a message to Alkaline to get the Champion boy to leave MVP and the company of Mavado and Jahmiel to join Gaza instead. If Alkaline really jump shit it would be interested to see how the Gaza fans would accept him. Both Kartel and Alkaline have thrown numerous lyrical shots at each other over the last few years.

After 18 Karat Reggae pulled an April Fool’s prank on dancehall fans by saying Vybz Kartel had already won his appeal, it is understood that even Alkaline fell for the prank and wrote 7 new songs to battle Kartel upon his release. This could be the reason Vybz Kartel is trying to recruit Alkaline. Why battle him if you can get him to join your camp?

Whether Alkaline will jump shit seems almost impossible but it sure makes for some interesting time in dancehall.
