According to Billboard Magazine, “Ganja for Life” by Mr. Bertus is absolutely the best marijuana song since Peter Tosh released Legalize it, over four decades ago.
“It is amazing that the best marijuana song since Legalize it, actually contains the line ‘this one to Peter Tosh is like a tribute’,” the marijuana published.
Ganja for life is featured on the 18 Karat Reggae Gold 2020 and has been a crowd pleaser since its release.
According Mr. Bertus, he initially planned to do a tribute to reggae great, Desmond Dekker, in what is actually a remake of Dekker’s huge hit, “Israelites”. However, when he got to the studio the scent of the marijuana in the air gave him a new idea and he ended up doing a tribute to Peter Tosh and marijuana.
“Ya man, this song was supposed to be a tribute to Desmond Dekker but inspiration from the ganja make it turn out to be a tribute to all three; Desmond Dekker, Peter Tosh and weed,” Bertus said.
The artist says he super happy that Billboard see his song as the best weed song since Legalize it because Peter Tosh is one of his favorite artists.
Bertus wants his fans to be on the lookout for his new album which will be out in early April.
