No breast implants, no butt surgery, just a whole lot of talent and a whole lot of winnings; that’s Koffee in a nutshell. The Reggae Grammy-Award winning artist was awarded the song of the year by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) for her song Lockdown.
Lockdown which was an anthem during the midst of the pandemic beat out other contenders such as Loco Remix by Agent Sasco featuring Bounty Killer, Lighter by Tarrus Riley featuring Shenseea, Like Royalty by Protoje featuring Popcaan and Cool as the Breeze by Chronixx.
In her usual humble spirit, Koffee took the time to shout out all the contenders during her recorded acceptance speech.
“I just want to say thank you to my fellow nominees. Continue to do good music and achieve big things. Keep up that good energy. That is the purpose of the music – to inspire,” Koffee said.
Koffee was supposed to have a song featured on the hit album 18 Karat Reggae Gold 2021 : ONENESS, however, because of the pandemic and some tight deadlines it was not possible
