Popular Dancehall Artist Popcaan Lands Movie Role

Andrae Sutherland, professionally known as Popcaan has been a popular dancehall artist since he joined Vybz Kartel’s Gaza music empire in 2008. He has definitely carved out a lane for himself in Jamaica, managed to gain notoriety overseas and is ready to extent his brand.

Yes, Popcaan has his eyes set on an acting career and the word is that he has landed a role in the Netflix drama, ‘The Intent’ which is scheduled to be released summer of 2018.

There are no details where monetary gains are concerned but representatives from his management have confirmed filming is already taking place in Jamaica, and will continue into next week.

The Intent, is a United Kingdom based crime thriller originally aired in 2016 and is centered around an undercover police officer who experienced bouts of moral dilemmas where his loyalty to law enforcement versus a street gang he’s cordial with, is concerned.

Popcaan has tried his hand at acting in the past, notably in Drake’s Please Forgive Me short film back in 2016.
