
Delroy Washington who was discovered by Bob Marley and was one of the first reggae artist to sign to a major label has died after battling an illness.
Washington was initially signed to CBS and later on moved on to Island and Virgin Records.
Along with being a reggae artist, he was also the CEO of the Federation of Reggae Music UK, the Reggae Trade and Development association.
Many throughout the Caribbean communities in England were sending condolences to Washington, including Dawn Butler who is an MP of Brent.
“My deepest condolences goes out to Delroy’s family, friends and fans. Delroy was a great musician and a friend. He played with Bob Marley and the Wailers and was never short of a story or two,” Butler said.
