When Ziggy Marley shouted his staunch support for apartheid Israel, we thought it couldn’t get any worse for reggae music and Jamaica. Now, a dancehall reggae artist has taken it to another level by joining the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). Marcus Garvey, Peter Tosh and Bob Marley must be turning in their graves.
Dancehall star, Vershon, has become the newest member of the KKK a bigoted group that his known for their hatred of Black people.
Vershon showed off his KKK membership on the popular Jamaican entertainment show “Nightly Fix” by donning the KKK favorite logo, which is the confederate flag.
Surprising at it might seem Vershon is not the first Black man to join the KKK. Blues musician Daryl Davis became a member of the KKK in 2015.
How long Vershon will last in the KKK or how it will affect his career remains to be seen.
