Wayne Marshall will be celebrating father’s day without his father who passed away just one week before the big day.
Marshall’s father, Wycliffe Mitchell, suffered a heart attack last Friday and died at the University of the West Indies Hospital on Sunday.
The reggae singer paid tribute to his father on Social Media yesterday.
“Fly with the angels my boss. Daddy passed today after fighting hard in the hospital. Thanks for all the prayers, support and positive energy in this tough time. God has him now and it is well. Wycliffe Mitchell Jan 12 ,1952 – June 10, 2018,” he posted.
Marshall also posted a video on Facebook which was recorded before his father’s passing. In the video he said the following:
The singer had asked fans to pray for his father just three days before his passing.
Just three days prior, the singjay had asked for prayers for his ailing father.
“Please help me and my family send up prayers and positive energy for my father who suffered a massive heart attack and is now fighting in the hospital,” he said. “He is my general, confidant, best friend, advisor, biggest supporter, life coach and teacher. He is everything to me. We love him dearly. I thank the medical team for the effort and support. We staying positive because the major part of the battle is in God hands and not mans. Stay up Dad,” he posted.
Wayne Marshall, given name Wayne Mitchell, is know for hit songs like Marshall in Town, Good Love and Glory to God with his sister-in-law Tessanne Chin.
