When it comes to the best marijuana song of all time, there is no doubt that Peter Tosh’s “Legalize it” takes that title easily. In fact, there has been little debate in that matter.
When looking at only the 21st century, however, the best marijuana song goes to another reggae crooner out of Jamaica and his name his Mr. Bertus. The song is called “Ganja for life” and no matter where you are when you listen to that song, it will put you in the mood to light up some ganja.
The song has been heating up the Reggae charts all over the world and is actually the first song on the 18 Karat Reggae Gold 2020 album (listen below).
So many great musicians have made songs about weed but the kind of weed that Mr. Bertus is singing about is the one that makes even the police officers that stopped him for the weed, end up smelling the aroma and then they themselves wanted some. The song is sung to the melody of “Israelites” by Desmond Dekker and is as addicting as the Jamaican ganja straight out of Westmoreland.
Marijuana helps with creativity, aid in relaxation and even expands the mind. Reggae and marijuana together put you in heaven on earth.
