When a photo of X Factor winner Dalton Harris sitting in a another man’s lap went viral late last year, Bounty Killer was quick to voice his displeasure over the situation. However, when Buju Banton basically issued an apology to the LGBTQ community for voicing the song Boom Bye Bye, not a word of criticism of the Rasta was heard from Bounty publicly.

Even after the drama around Dalton Harris; photo had died down; Bounty Killer continued to lash out against the Power of Love singer and even went as far as saying that Harris was not fit to represent Jamaica.

Older Jamaicans would say it is a case of “Duppy know who fi frighten”. While Bounty Killer was quick to chastise and discipline a young Dalton Harris for exhibiting homosexual tendencies, he has been very slow to say anything about Buju Banton implying that it is OK to be a homosexual.

“I affirm once and for all that everyone has the right to live as they so choose,” Buju Banton said over a week ago.

Not only did Buju Banton say the homosexuals have a right to live as they choose but he actually invited them to come out and enjoys his shows on the Long Walk to Freedom tour.

“I welcome everyone to my shows in a spirit of peace and love. Please come join me in that same spirit,” Buju Banton continued.

One would think Bounty Killer who coins himself as the “poor people governor” and the “voice of the ghetto” would have some kind of words for Buju Banton by now but Bounty has remained silence. In the ghettos of Jamaica, homosexuality is still not accepted and most likely will never be. So one has to wonder why the voice of the ghetto has remained so silent.

Could it be that Bounty is giving Buju Banton a free pass? Or is he just Rasta more respect than he gave to Dalton Harris.

18 Karat Reggae always shows the utmost respect, honor and manners to Bounty Killer, however, in this instance he left us wondering; how could he speak out so loudly against Dalton Harris sitting in another man’s lap yet remain so calm about Buju Banton saying that homosexuals have a right to be homosexuals?
