DJ Khaled’s new album is now less than two months away and featured on the lead single for the album is Jamaica’s living legend, Buju Banton.
18 Karat Reggae was the first to announce back in December that Buju Banton and DK Khaled were in the studio together doing some work on the rapper’s upcoming album. Well-placed sources have now informed us that the lead single off the album will be collaboration between the rapper and Jamaica’s living reggae legend.
DJ Khaled’s new album is called Father of Asahd and it is due out May 17. Last night while hosting The 2019 Kids’ Choice Awards on Nickelodeon he took the opportunity to promote the release of the album.
“FATHER OF ASAHD! MAY 17! MY BIGGEST ALBUM! MAY 17! FATHER OF ASAHD! MAY 17! MY BIGGEST ALBUM,” Khaled shouted.
18 Karat Reggae also understands that with the contract between Buju Banton and Khaled, this will be the first new studio recording we will hear from Buju Banton since his release from prison in the United States after serving a 10-year sentence on drug charges.
Of course fans can catch Buju Banton live on his Long Walk to Freedom tour. The nest stop on the tour will be this Saturday in the Bahamas.
